Book Reviews & Letters of Recommendation To Whom It May Concern: As an FCA Representative and the Chaplain of the Minnesota Vikings it is my privilege to recommend Susan Germanson to your program. I met Susan two years ago as she was writing her book, "You Can Be the Ultimate Athlete". I found Susan to be a passionate person who cares deeply for the Lord and for others. Her book was released in March of 2004 and it is a reader-friendly book for Christian Athletes of all ages and performance levels. It is a great manual for athletes to have when they are at a workout, competition, traveling, or at home. It is an excellent resource to help athletes and coaches apply their faith to their life and sport. In April, I had the opportunity to hear Susan speak at the University of Minnesota Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle meeting. Susan's presentation was a definite hit with the athletes. She did a great job relating to their life as a collegiate athlete. She was very engaging, using real life examples to communicate Biblical truth. Through her own trials and successes God has given Susan a strong faith and a burden to reach people with the love of Christ. I highly recommend Susan as a speaker for your program. Susan has a servant heart and a willingness to share her gifts and talents with others. This is evident given that she does not charge churches and non-profit organizations for her services. Backes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To Whom It May Concern: As a member of the leadership team for Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at the University of Minnesota, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with a number of outstanding individuals. This past year I had the privilege of meeting Susan Germanson at an FCA fundraiser. As she shared with me her heart, I could tell that the Lord had truly given her a passion to teach and encourage others. A few months later, I invited Susan to come and share at our FCA meeting at the University of Minnesota. I was very impressed with Susan’s ability to effectively incorporate the Word of God with athletics. I have been a Christian for as long as I can remember and an athlete for nearly as long. I gained a lot from Susan’s teaching that night. Susan offered valuable insight on how to make you workouts a praise offering to the Lord. Susan’s most impressive attribute, however is her genuine desire to bless and encourage others with the love of God. The University of Minnesota was certainly blessed by Susan’s willingness to serve and share her heart. I would highly recommend her teaching to any athlete, male of female. Susan covers a variety of topics that address nearly every situation an athlete many face. Susan is a joy to work with and a blessing to know.
